Privacy Policy
Westbound tracks your drives on Colorado's I-70 mountain corridor and awards stickers. There is no account.
What stays on your iPhone
Your routes, drives, stickers and stats are stored on your iPhone. Westbound uses your location to record a drive while you're on it, and, if you turn on auto-detect, to notice when you're near the corridor. Motion data is read on your iPhone to tell when you're driving, and is never stored or sent.
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, your Westbound data is included in that backup, as with any app.
What leaves your iPhone
After a drive, Westbound asks Open-Meteo for the weather at one approximate point along it, rounded to about 1 km, for the dates of the drive, so it can award weather stickers. No name, account or device identifier is sent, and the request isn't linked to you.
Open-Meteo keeps server logs, which may include that point and your IP address, for up to 90 days.
You can turn this off in Settings ▸ Weather stickers.
Nothing else leaves your iPhone. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us crash reports, under Apple's own privacy terms.
What we don't do
No advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and no selling or sharing of data.
Sharing a drive
If you export a drive, it goes only where you choose to send it.
Deleting your data
To delete one drive, open it and tap the trash icon. To delete every drive and the stickers they earned, use Settings ▸ Delete all drive data. Deleting the app removes everything Westbound has stored on your iPhone.
This website
westbound.app uses no cookies and no analytics. It's hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps standard server logs.
Changes
If Westbound adds accounts or cloud backup, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the app will ask before anything new leaves your iPhone.
